We didn’t want to listen to the “tinny” rattle of one of the metal units that you can get when we purchased new appliances. It has a solid frame inside made from 2×4 stock and the top is 3/4” plywood. There are holes for the machine feet to drop into so the washer and dryer actually sit down on the frame and can not walk off in the event of an unbalanced load. The drawers are on full extension runners and are mounted with a slight downhill angle so they stay shut when the washer vibrates. This means the drawer box has to be slightly smaller than the opening as it travels uphill about 3/8” when it is pulled out. Overall size is 14 H x 60” x 28 deep.
