This is a shelf I recently finished. I harvested a tree from a neighbors yard but the bugs had gotten to it pretty badly. So I studied it for a while to figure out what to do with it and this is what I finally came up with. It is maple as far as I know. The bark and leaves looked like it to me but I did have one person disagree so I’ll say I’m not 100%. I laminated a piece of maple to the top and cut it out to the natural edge shape. I think it’s a pretty interesting piece. It’s about 36” long and around 5 1/2” at the widest point. Finished with lacquer. And mounted with keyhole hangers. I like it but my wife says it doesn’t go with our decor so I’m trying to sell it. Thanks for looking!

I like it…I’ll be making some of these. Thanks for sharing your awesome project.
