A long the lines of… the cobbler’s children have no shoes, I don’t make much for the family. This project was a Melissa and Doug’s birdhouse gift. The primary carpenter was my 4 year old daughter, and the reason this project was awesome. Lesson’s learned: (1) In some cases you got to give up the idea of doing it all your self, and just get it done. (2) A four year old works best with the fat stubby screw drivers. (3) Reminded that the things you make your self, trump all the other gifts. (4) Getting stuck in the snow in the midwest, and being forced to take time off was GREAT. As far as also being a partial review of the kit. It delivered as promised, and no one had to wait for daddy to finally get around to getting the parts cut him self. :)

Yep, that is the best project you’ll ever do! She is an absolute doll! And the birdhouse turned out well. She looks so proud of it in the pic.

Nice birdhouse. What a lucky bird to live in this house.

Watch those little hands turn in those screws must have been a thrill. Her expression says it all. How cute she is. Nice birdhouse, Daddy.

Thank you all for your kind words. She has been pretending to rebuild it for several days now.

The kit was a christmas present. This is from their website but I am sure it can be found at amazon. It would honestly be sooo easy to make your self. But I think folks have understood why that was beside the point.
