Hello All,
Well a snow storm decided to dump nearly a foot of snow on my home so I got the itch to show my daughter how to make a sled out of wood! Considering the fact that this was for outdoor snow use, I used pallet wood to construct the frame for this sled, we then applied some wax to bottoms of the skis. In the end the sled worked great! Too bad we got a foot of snow though, the sled worked a lot better with 4 inches on the ground. In any case when the snow melts a little we will be able to sled some more. Enjoy the pictures!

Fun. That’s what was done on the old days! :-)

Looks good from here! Maybe a pallet toboggan for the deeper snow while you wait for a melt? ;-)

Nice work Ethan
We cannot let all these pallets just lie about enjoying their twilight years!!
I made a table in Jul this year just to see if the timber was good enough, well six months on and its as good as the day I built it,... less some sap seepage on the ends.

I so want this right now. Up in MN and have a few fresh inches of snow on the ground and could go teach these kids a thing or two about sledding.

What kind of wax did you use? I’m on a mission to build presents for the family this year and was debating tool/jewelry boxes for the nieces and nephews until the snow started falling and I got to thinking about some sort of sled.
