I made and designed this bench for my father for Christmas. It is 4.5’ bench made of walnut designed to sit in the front of my parent’s bed. The finish is Waterlox original with a few coats of wipe on poly.

This is my first time working entirely in walnut. I really enjoyed it. I love the grain pattern of the top, and the the color is wonderful. I did make a last minute change in the plans. I was planning on sanding the tenons from the legs flush with the top, but really liked the 1/4” protrusions and decided to keep them.

For those interested here is my sketchup plan.

Beautiful wood and finish, plus that looks like some excellent joinery
