This is a chair that I made with Curtis Buchanan while we were working on a publication for this design. We thought it would be good to build the piece we would be working on together so that I knew the ins and outs of the piece. It was great fun.

It was made all from green wood starting with the long, riving, drawknife, etc…

If you haven’t seen his Youtube videos of this chair being made. It is awesome. Here is a link to a sped up version of him making the chair. There are also about 50+ videos of him making every part. If you ever wanted to see a real traditional chair maker at work, check it out.

Fabulous chair. I really love the long slender spindles on the back and all the wonderful turnings and details.

Very nice chair ,Curtis and Mike Dunbar are two of the top Windsor chair makers around.
It’s great to know Curtis has a lot of You tube videos.

I confidently throw Peter Galbert in there as well though he is of course newer on the scene.

Great job on the chair, and an exceptional job on the plans you drew for Curtis’s Comb Back Windsor Arm Chair.

Thanks Stephen,

I used to live in Katy, TX. Not far from you at all. Spent about 15 years out there. Made some nice furniture in that town.

Anyhow keep an eye out for the continuous arm chair plans that we will have out in the coming months. These will be even better I guarantee.
