Not much of a story here but I thought the project itself is amusing.
A client asked if I could make some pint sized coat trees for her grandson. So I did and couldn’t help thinking of hobbits.

The design is based on the curves I constantly find myself exploring and I really enjoyed discovering the “flares” on the brackets.

The black is sprayed with black india ink and then 4 or 5 coats of high gloss poly.
The other one has a yellow NGR and San Miguel stain from Goudy and then the poly.

Have a great New Year everyone!

It is easy to see what you mean by exploring curves when you look at the bases and wonder, “Would it look
better if I shifted the curve just a little?” Great looking Hobbit/grandson/house ape coat racks. But the old
green envy picked up when I spotted that nice bandsaw in the last picture. I am helping a friend put new
tires on an old Delta 20” bandsaw and am having a bad case of bandsaw lust right now. Thank you for sharing.

Great coat trees Scott. I know what you mean about the curves … been there … still there.
