I was making these Mallets for some guys I know when My girl said she wanted one. One that is not so heavy of course. So I put this one together for her. I used Padauk, maple, oak, and mahogany. It is small only 8.25 in all the head is 6.5in across and 2.25in square with a 6in handle. The head has 2 cylinders with 13 pennies in them on each side for dead blowness two pennies of movement space. Her birthday is the 13th so that is why that many I normally would use more for more weight.
