Calvos Passage Arts and Crafts Frame

Here is my frame for a “Calvos Passage” block print by Yoshiko Yamamoto. The frame is quartersawn white oak with walnut pegs. Yoshiko’s block printing process is fascinating, as she carves cherry wood to make the block. She then hand paints the block to achieve the distinct look.

The last time I made frames, I churned out 9 at once. With this frame, it was great to just do one!

Wonderful frame for a great triptych. Her prints are amazing and she’s a very nice lady if you ever get a chance to meet her at a show. She signed my tile that I framed pagoda-style.
