Based upon the pics I would say that your first try was very successful. Nice mosaic of colors.

The first one has cherry, ambrosia maple, walnut and i think oak. Can’t remember been 1 year or more. The other two have cherry, purple heart, walnut, and mahogany.

Great work. I love that the pattern is not completely regular and the random appearances of Purpleheart keep you guessing.
