This is the final project to come out of the shop for this year. Cherry bowl that is 13 inches in diameter, 4 inches deep. I used my wood burner to etch a geiko on the base of this piece. There is also some detail chatter work around the base of the foot. Finish is several coats of satin wipe on poly. I applied the finish on the lathe and wet sanded each coat in with 600 grit paper. Now it is time to give the shop a detailed clean up, perform routine maintenance on all the equipment and wait for Santa to show up. Always nice to start the New Year with a clean shop!

Very sweet bowl, Jeff.
I hear you on the shop clean up. I was vacuuming all day for new shop pics to post.

Nice. You don’t see too many cherry bowls. I have to turn a walnut bowl for a client tomorrow, It’s a glue up which hopfully will be dry by then.

Jeff: That is a fantastic bowl.

Nice wood burning also.
