Built this for a Chief in the Navy. It’s 44 inces long and about 23 tall. Has a hinged top and below the flag holder (the big “A”) I made a challenge coin holder that holds about 26 standard coins. It was made out of cherry. Took about 30 hours and it was finished with hand-rubbed tung oil.

This is a beautiful piece. Cherry is such a gorgeous wood. I am sure the Chief appreciated receiving this gift.

Thanks for the post.

Unique idea and beautiful work. Reminds me of my days aboard the “Connie”

Great job!

It the “A” for USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72)?

This is actually my second one…the “A” just puts balance to it, he is actually on the VINSON CVN 70.

Have your say...
