My garden bench, design inspired by the Greene and Greene, Blacker house hall bench.
Reclaimed Oregon (Douglas Fir) with Jarrah plugs and splines, some oak dowels also. I filled the nail holes with dyed epoxy, I quite like the character provided by the nail holes and knots. Finished with 2 coats of decking oil. It’s not fine furniture but I’m working up to it!
This has been a great learning experience. 46 mortise and tenon joints and an opportunity to use a lot of different tools. This project has been a kind of therapy for me, helping me get through a particularly tough time. This woodworking thing really is a great hobby, cathartic and productive.
Thanks for all the inspiration on this site.

It looks like fine furnitue to me. I love A/C style furniture and moving it outside seems like a natural extension. I find this kind of work very therapeutic too. My wife just woke up to find I was still in the shop. I lost track of time. I came inside at her behest, but immediately signed into LJ to find this beautiful bench. Very fine work!

My wife walked up as I clicked on the bench and said OH I like that. Guess you know what you got me into. Never built chairs and such but I guess I’ll learn now.
Beautiful bench.

This very nicely done! It is graceful with interesting elements from G&G, refreshingly substantial without the least hint of being “clunky”. Great job!
