This candle holder was simply an afterthought – it’s the spare of a laminate with which I originally made a pencil box for my son in the summer time.
It’s made with black walnut and wenge, two coats of sanding sealer, two coats white polish and five coats beeswax.

Apologies for the horrible candles!! I’ve ordered some nice glass-cased ones from ebay, hopefully they’ll arrive soon :)

Simple and elegant. Very nice. I need to do some candle holders for gifts for christmas. How does your finish hold up against the heat from the candle?

Interesting… that’s something I hadn’t considered! Possibly a major noob error there. Perhaps this one will have to just be for ‘display’ or something.

Great work and a simple project for stocking fillers.

Would be keen to hear recommendations on finishes that would hold up against heat of candles.
