Built from 1×4 southern yellow pine, I used a quick sketch on a scrap paper for reference, but no detailed drawings at all, since it’s so simple. Only trick was the angle to the sides. They’re tilted at 4 degrees. To get the dadoes in the sides right, you must rout them at 4 degrees angle. To do that, I simply propped one side of the router base on a 3/16” shim block spaced about an inch from the edge of the dado. Not perfect angle but very close. I was worried about holding the shape, but in fact, it was so strong that I didn’t need anything in back or angle brackets. The top and bottom ledger bars are notched in, so the weight of the shelf and wine bottles sits on the bottom one, which is, in turn, anchored into the center of three studs with cabinet screws. Same for top. Put to use immediately. Pour me one bartender!
