After months of telling my wife I didn’t want an aquarium I finally broke down and bought her one for her birthday…. and of course it needed an Aquarium Stand. So I bought her the aquarium and made this stand for her. After making the stand & then going to the fish store, I realized I probably WAY OVERBUILT it. But hey… isn’t that what we do here on LJ’s? (I know I’m still very new to woodworking but I was shocked after looking at some of the commercial stands. I’d be afraid of them falling apart once you have a few hundred pounds of water on top.)

Here is my project… The main construction is 2×4’s (all with the Kreg Pocket Hole Jig). I have 3/4” plywood on the outside & pine in the front . The drawer front & doors are also pine. I wrapped the top with Wenge because that is my wife’s favorite type of wood.

The stain is General Finishes Ebony Dye Stain (the woodgrain shows up much better in person than in the pictures) and then General Finishes PolyAcrylic Semi-Gloss for the top coat.

All comments and criticism are welcome. Thank you for viewing my project.
