I designed this box using solid maple and dyed wood veneers. The cover’s geometric pattern was assembled from carefully hand cut pieces of dyed yellow and purple veneers. Miter joints were used in the construction of this box. Slight bevels were cut on the base of the box and the box’s cover resulting in a ‘softer’ feel to the box. Finally, the box was hand sanded and several coats of hand rubbed shellac were applied followed by a light coat of Renaissance English wax resulting in a soft sheen.

Dimensions are approximate
Length- 4 ½ inches
Width- 4 ½ inches
Height- 3 ¾ inches

The chamfered edges give this little box a nice look. The veneer looks very tedious but you got it spot on.

The skewed pattern and bevel on the lid really make this one, Roger.
