A friend of mine and his wife are having their first baby soon. I wanted to give him a nice gift. He was wanting to make the girls room look like a barn. I used a lot of birch plywood to do this project. Luckily, I had quite a bit left over from a previous job. I ripped the plywood into “T&G” starting with 6” at the outside and gradually decreasing the size to 3”. Even made the “V” groove smaller as I went toward the center. The beams start off as 4 X 6 at the walls and taper to 2 X 3 in the center. The bedroom door and the closet door I made look like a stable door. I did not split the bedroom door but did give it the appearance of doing just that. I used plywood on all the walls to give the appearance of posts and beams. The one wall has a “Sliding” door that opens onto a pasture. I still have some shading to do to give the posts and beams some depth, but I think it is turning out well. I wanted to wait until I was 100% finished but am getting quite busy with work and it will take more time. Sometimes I get impatient to show off. =}

Awesome job on the room. Love the ceiling. Nice detail with the diminishing v-groove size.

Very nice. Must be a great friend, looks like you invested a lot of time on a well thought out project. I am sure she will enjoy it for many years.
