After posting the CPO shadow box, I got a request for a Senior Chief Petty Officer version. Fortunately, I already had created the template needed for the star in anticipation of getting orders for one. I did make a change to the coloring of the “crow” from the CPO box I made. The buyer asked for the “crow” and star to be white or silver and the chevrons and rocker to be “gold” to more closely imitate the actual stripe. So I whitewashed the “crow” and star and added a bit of stain to the finish for the chevrons and rocker. I think it came out pretty good.

As always, nice juob Pat.

I have found Aspen a good wood to use for “white” without having to bleech.

Only because I have been playing with yellow heart, I might look into that wood for the chevrons and the rocker. I have a simple box in my projects with yellow heart. Take a look. Nice job by the way. Looks good.
