These are some items I created for my classroom.

Pictures 1-2 – Oak shadowbox (24”x24”) made with 1”x6”. Finished with Howard’s Wax ‘n Feed. Has a great amber color. This was my first attempt at dado joinery.

Picture 3 – Oak cross. Base is finished with Minwax Ebony stain. Top is scorched. Both parts are sealed with Polycrylic.

Picture 4 – “E” is for Eastern Michigan University (where I graduated from). It is recycled pallet wood. “M” is for the University of Michigan. “M” is made from white oak and black walnut base.

Picture 5 – Recycled oak pallet used as a storage rack now.

Did your school have any issues with fire code in your classroom with those shelves? I would be interested in doing something similar in my classroom.

Have your say...
