i been wanting to make a mantle for some time as this fireplace had only a small brick one. The problem has always been that the windows are to close on the side to do any kind of molding that wraps the corners. Came up with this idea to make a square log and really like the way it turned out. Bob | |||||||

nice! – the clean simple approach works well with the rustic brick
i did a similar one with a black stained oak veneer
