This is the first personalised carving i sold. It is carved from a solid piece of Bog Oak. It meaures 23” x 11.5”. I added the vest by removing two strips of the bog oak and inlaying strips of white oak veneer. The number is cut from a piece of mahogany veneer and fixed in place with super glue. The engraving above the dog is white oak inlay and I carved the letters to reveal the dark wood underneath. I decided to emboss around the dog to make it stand out more once the piece had been finished. I did this with a piece of 10mm steel bar that i cut with a hacksaw in a cross pattern. The whole piece was then brushed with two coats of sanding sealer and the flat uncarved timber got two coats of briwax
