I haven’t been posting enough on Lumberjocks ~ but in my defense I get a Facebook Feed of amazing Lumberjock projects and most days it satisfies the craving. However, it never really satisifies the “missing” I feel from not interacting with all my “buddies”.

I did this project a while ago. And haven’t posted it yet. It’s a custom order screen door to match the Dandelion Wall Hanging I made about a year ago. I used my routering/carving techniques to create the design in the door and this time I played with some stain and paints to create the weathered worn look the client requested. Then I decided to get artsy with the screen. I took a scrap piece of screen (photo 2) and a white paint pen to create some dandelion seeds (aka ~ fluff, parachutes, nusiance) floating through the air. I free-hand drew the fluff and it was so easy… AND SO FUN!!! I need to paint on my screens more! I was surprised by the inside or backside of the painted screen ~ it was nearly invisible! The finished door and painted screen (photo 4) was a surprisingly fun project.

glad to see your doing well with your doors, your always coming up with new ideas on how to make them better…really great job, its cool that your screen painting turned out that way, with the paint being on the outside metal, and it not showing on the reverse side is really cool robin… makes sense huh…...keep at it…grizz

A very cool screen door. I like the lower solid panel as my big dog is good at sticking his foot through the bottom screen.

As usual, very cool door. Artistic, yet rustic. Functional but whimsical. Thanks for posting.

Another screen door with a new twist! We know what you mean about posting. It’s more fun spending the time in the shop!
