I finally broke down and bought my first new (used) bandsaw. After getting it all tuned up and replacing the blade I was having such a good time doing test cuts I decided to make this little plaque for my wife on a whim with the scrap I was using at the time. I guess I’m a softy. Here it is in use on her sewing desk.

Hi Birks.

I’ll bet when the missus saw this, she didn’t argue about the purchase of the band saw, eh? (grin)

I wonder what band saw you have to make you this softy? :) A very sweet gesture. If you’ll keep doing this, she’ll allow you to purchase more power tools.

HaHa. If all you woodworkers out there ever want some extra brownie points surprise your girl with something like this. She’s been in a good mood and nice to me for the past two days lol! AND I got a bandsaw out of the deal!

@Fishinbo: I bought a used Jet on CL. The previous owner must have cut rocks with the thing, but it was in pretty good shape otherwise. But man, after using a jigsaw for the past 2 years, this tool is pretty sweet!

Wise item to make, wonderful job, maybe she will permit you more time to use the new tool

I really do like this sign. It looks nice and I’ll bet that your wife ‘loves’ this ‘love’ plaque. Nice work.
