These are a couple of night stands I started a year ago, built the boxes, and cut all the drawer parts, then life got in the way and they sat until this week. I was able to drag my butt back into the shop for a few days to get them completed. Unfortunately the drawer fronts were on the table between the boxes, and they did not get the same exposure so I have some color variance that I am hoping will catch up. These are from a set of plans I downloaded. The finish is a 3 part blend, Poly, tung oil, and BLO. Sorry, I should have taken some more progress shots, but we know how that worked out.
The 8/4 cherry in the 3rd pic is the beggining of the next project … hopefully I will get it done in a little less time than these.. LOL
Thanks for having a look, and I appreciate any feed back. After all, I am still growing.

Very nice! Did you buy your finish pre-mixed or did you do it yourself? My wife wants a set with drawer on top and cabinet on bottom. Also, did you make your own wood drawer slides, or purchase? Love to see some more pics with the drawers open! Well done!

Thanks guys,
Jay,
The finish is a mixture of 3 equal parts of all the ingedients, I mix it as I need it, and use it on a lot of projects. It is a “wipe on, wipe off” finish. These could be built without the bottom drawers if wanted. Each drawer has a kicker above it, and wood / pocket slides. You just build the drawer box, and then plane to fit. It takes as long to fit the drawer as it does to build them, but they fit nice. Andy Rae actually put out an excellent dvd on building and fitting drawers. My original intent was to dovetail the sides, but I comprimised, and just used the dado design.
If your intereseted in looking at the plans, send me your email address, and I will send them to you. These are part of entire bedroom suite set I have plans for.
