Project Information

I got this pattern from Scroll Saw Workshop. I apologize I don't have the link on hand directly to the pattern, but you can look in the pattern catalog on that site and find it.
I downloaded this pattern a long time ago with the intent to cut out the pattern on the scrollsaw. Well, yesterday I could hardly move and needed something to do that I could do almost exclusively sitting in one spot. So I enlarged the pattern using a program called Inkscape. I made it 14×17". Then I used carbon paper to trace it onto wood so I could cut the pattern out with a router. I then painted the letters and finished it with an exterior finish so it could be hung outside if one wanted to do so.

Thank you both.
I made two of these. I am not sure why. I just did. I'm thinking about giving one of them to a cop that I know.

Cool! Give one to your cop friend. I bet he'll get a big kick out of it. Might even mount it on his patrol car!

Love it. I swiped your pic and posted it to facebook. I'm a prosecutor with a great number of friends in law enforcement.; thought they would all enjoy seeing it. ( I didn't check to see if this violated any of the forum rules; if it does, please let me know, and I'll remove it immediately. Thanks!)

Thank you all very much.
lawyer, I don't think it violates anything. Steve Goode designed the pattern. He offers all his patterns free on the site I provided a link to in my original post.

I remember a similar sign from the 60's that read "If you don't like cops, next time you're in trouble call a hippy!". It was carried by a uniformed cop at a pot rally in (I believe) LA. Needless to say, he was not part of the rally.
At the time I was in training for the Metropolitan Toronto Police Force, so I understood where he was coming from.

Love the sign. As for the advice, I think I'll stick with calling the cops, should such a situation arise. ;-)

Thank you all.

BigTiny, thanks, I remember seeing a similar sign in an old newspaper clipping once now that you mention it. I'd forgotten about it till now though.

DIY, please go sleep it off before finding your keys.

Great sign - the only thing missing is the number 1-900-IAM-DUMB. The reasoning behind the number is simple - 900 - if you are that dumb, you need to pay for the call. The rest of the numbers say it all.
