As part of my box building phase, I’ve also made a couple of stationery boxes. They are suppose to fit traditional sized stationery, but I am not sure if anyone actually writes letters anymore.
The box on the left is made from leopard wood, I believe. This was a tough build as it tends to chip out due to the grain pattern. The box on the right is made from spalted something or other. Another tough build due to the softness of the wood. The tops were veneered over plywood. I am not real happy with the color combo’s, but you never know until you put it all together.
A couple of hand turned pens round out the photos for your viewing pleasure.

Technology is a double edged sword. Letters are almost nonexistent due to email. I miss them. But now I’m inspired to get out my multicolored pens and doodle up some personalized letters to my family back home! Thanks for the inspiration!
