Last summer I picked up a run down garden bench for two bucks. No way was I going to sit my big butt in that bench and my lady friend was wondering what in the world would Mr. Tom buy something like that. I got it for the pattern to make the garden bench shown. I like it better when I have something to look at rather than marks all over a piece of paper.
Of course I made some changes, made it where it would be stronger and last longer than a summer or two. Made this one out of Aromatic Red Cedar and plan on it lasting for as long as I live. I put several coats of clear poly to protect it from the weather and it really brings out the red color in the cedar.
At first I was making this bench to sale but once it was finished I knew it wasn’t going anywhere except in a special place in my flower garden. It looks great sitting there and real nice to go out in the evening and just sit with my honey and talk about what happen today.
Hope you enjoy it and it was a pleasure building it.
Thanks for looking.
Mr. Tom

I don’t like to use the word “pretty” but that is pretty. I bet your lovely would like to sit with you there.
