Recently I got a “if it fits, it ships” flat rate box of wood from one of my LJ buddies TechTeacher. He said that he was messing around with it. I think he means a spalting technique. Any way, when I taught school the students made a lot of dust collectors two of which are the snail and the whale band saw boxes made from sugar pine. So I thought I’d use the wood for those. I like to line the inside with felt so the box doesn’t slip out because of the band saw kerf. Tech Teacher said if I couldn’t use the wood just burn it, he wouldn’t be offended. I didn’t burn it all, ha!

We should have a “no burn” policy, so long as it of a size which can be bandsawn then it can become a bandsawn box!

Bob,
That whale is pretty neat I put it on the windowsill next to the clock. Kind of like magic, sent out a box with random bits of wood and a different box came back with finished work.
Thanks!
