This was a quick little, slightly more than weekend, project that I did for work, it’s the team logo for the group that I manage. (D. C. are the initials for my team) Not the most exciting project but being that I’m more of a straight cut kind of guy it was fun to spend some time on the scroll saw, and with the files. This started as the prototype but then I got too far in and didn’t want to start over so I ended up just finishing it. I had planned to use thinner wood and different species to give it more of a contrast but…
The outer circle is a 2’ dia. and each layer is ¾” thick, I cut the circle with a jig that I made for my table saw, starting the blade then using a sanding disk in the table saw with the same jig. The rest I cut on the band saw and scroll saw, then a lot of sanding.
When I hung it up at work the best compliment I got was “Wow, you own a CNC machine”. :)
Thanks,
James
