Project Information

We did this project about half to one year ago. I was asked by Safety department rep at work to come up with an "Anymouse" box. It's a term I've heard all throughout my aviation career in the Navy.

Anyways, I wanted to show a bit of something different around the spaces. I wanted the box to hold a normal 8"x11" piece of paper neatly and look cool. I know if people like what they see, they might spend a bit more time looking at it. Then they can just fill out of form for anything safety related while their thinking about it.

I wanted to use a couple different woods and keeping the finish close to natural. I designed the box and the Mrs. did the beautiful woodburning on the front.

Box itself is about 9 1/2" W x 12 1/2" H x 3" D
Wood - Cherry and Maple
Finish - Natural stain Cabot and a good handful of coats with Deft spray-on poly gloss. The cherry looks even better now, after mellowing a bit.

That makes me kind of wonder if any LumberJocks feel like posting pictures of how thier projects have changed or mellowed with time?

The last picture is three of the reasons why I wanted work personnel to take that extra second looking at the box and maybe fill out a Safety "Anymouse" form.
