I just couldn’t resist trying. It was an extreme exercise in Patience and Precision. The glue up was loads of fun…and incredibly nerve wracking! Any gaps would have rendered a pricey cutting board into a heavy serving tray. But, I managed to prevail and serve up two beautiful boards that are now making two lucky moms very happy after this past Mother’s Day.

Nice job very clean looking. Boards can be alot fo work but so nice when they’re done right.

Wow, both boards are amazing. What woods did you use?

The dimensions: 19” x 12” x 2”
The woods: Black Walnut, Rock Maple and Cherry
The Finish: Mineral Oil and Beeswax
Ensuring the grain was continuous for each weaved strip was the most rewarding part to see come together.
Thanks for the kind words.
