My Little younger son (7 years old) asked me if he can do a woodworking project for her Mom, some times he likes to be at the shop and grab some scrap pcs and work with his toy tools, he likes the woodworking and I hope I will be able to teach him. Any way this board I made for my Wife with my son’s help, it’s just scrap pcs of Walnut I had laying around and to add some distinction I asked my son if he want me to add colors to the work in progress, so we added some stripes of Yellow heart, Padauk, and Purple heart, this pcs are not available in Mexico, so I purchase just few pcs each any time I had a chance from USA, but always have the worry if they can catch me at customs on my way back home.

the inlay is free hand with Router and I wanted to add like hand written look, I full filled the letters with Ebonised color, and heart shape is Purple heart wood.

it’s simple project but I like it since I spend more time with my some for couple of days at the shop.

thks for stopping by!

Beautiful – both board and sentiment. Great way to get the younger generation involved in woodworking. My favorite memories are ones where I was helping my Grandfather in his shop making furniture….I wasn’t much help I am sure…..but I was very motivated. From those days, I still get a warm, comfortable feeling when I head out to the shop to do some “woodbutchering” err woodworking.

Great looking board, and nice job on the free handed inlay heart.
