was an offcut of an oak branch, turned out to be a silly little project that i didnt think much of, and ended up being quite chuffed with.
maybe next time to improve these, a set of them, or a ring of a lighter grain wood around the top would really set these off. (this site gets me thinking too much…)
all ideas and (constructive) criticism welcome!

I like it, sometimes simple projects are some of the best ones.
-- Martin ....always count the number of fingers you have before, and after using the saw.

A couple more of these – same size – all placed together would look lovely on the mantle or on a side table. By itself – you could put it next to a short vase of fresh cut garden flowers or a small branch of leaves for a welcoming spot on a dining table. It is the kind of piece that begs to be picked up and held – solid and reassuring, like an oak tree!
