This blanket chest was a wedding gift for a dear friend of my wife’s. It is not made out of oak and stained golden oak by minwax. The panels are plywood to save time and money. This project was done by a plan from the New Yankee Workshop.

Your wife’s friend is a lucky to know your wife with a craftman as a husband. This will be passed on for 50 years. What a wonderful wedding gift.

She is such a good friend. Her father married us, and our first son’s middle name is her father’s first name. They are such great christians and the world is lucky to have them around. She is funny. When she mentions what her husband does in his spare time, she specifically says that he doesn’t do woodworking. I recently visited the new house they just built and told her that they have a perfect backyard for a woodworking shed. She said he had no talent. I remember when I thought that about myself, and look at what I can piece together.

You did a wonderful job on the chest. A gift like this is one from the heart and, as such, it is one that will be treasured. Very nice.

Thanks for the post.
