I burned this pyrograph into some baltic birch and framed it with hard maple scraps I had in the discard pile. Then finished it with satin laquer spray, 4 coats. I made it from a picture that i took of the bike on a trip I was on several years ago. I just left out everything in the background. My primary goal was to hone shading skills, which has been a slow learning process….almost as slow as getting over selling my bike!

650 V-Star? Nice rendering. Do you do these by hand or a stencil of some sort?

I make a pattern from a picture and then transfer what I want in the burining and leave out the rest. That’s a ‘99 VStar Classic. I really enjoyed that bike.

Like your by-line btw!

I’m afraid I’ve always dismissed pyrography as a bit, erm, tacky, but you have opened my eyes to it with a real work of art!

That’s beautiful, sorry you had to sell your bike, but this came out awesome.
