My wife wanted a book case to put photo album in and I didnt want a plane book case, so this is what I came up with. to make this I made 8 pices with the branches matchingfor the shelf and the ends being randum. Then I put a spacer strip between every layer, and sanded for hours with a belt sander. In hind sight I should have done a layer at a time and then router them to match then go on to the next layer. I think this would be faster. The paint on this dose look more like bark in person.

nice work. I have a similar plan for a tree book case one day.
hope the wife likes it.

Your design is inspired, very much “not plain”! Very nice original piece, love the tree basis.
...and FWIW, great traffic signal in your shop, too!
