For the last several years I have been a part of the Sauder Village Woodcarving Show in NW Ohio and have meet many woodcarvers, all of which would do anything for one another. This past month one of those carvers, Paul Nofziger, pasted away. Paul was a very giving man and donated some of his time to help with the Black Swamp Benefit which helps people with disabilities. Lisa who worked with Paul on all the details for the benefit and was devastated and called me to see if I would carve something to honor him and to be auctioned off at the benefit. My answer was sure I will. Paul loved the phrase The Woodcarvers Gift so I carved this plaque out of a piece of 5/4 basswood and with a little thought I came up with the hands.

Roger A beautiful piece as always.
I’m sure that it will be well received at the auction.

Great looking plaque, and a wonderful way to remember a woodcarver and his favorite saying. I do not
have the gift, but I do like to whittle a little every now and then. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you everyone. It’s hard to know when to stop with the designs sometimes so it is good to hear all the positives.
