Dog bed cabinet

Just a quick entry of a dog bed/crate I made for our Welch Corgi pup. I designed it to fit in a corner of our bedroom. She is currently sleeping in a plastic dog crate in the same location and my wife had seen pictures of other wood cabinet type crates and talked me into making one. She is only 9 months old and it will be a several more months before we can trust her with full run of the house while we are sleeping. At that time the door will come off. It is currently located in the family room waiting for finish to “cure” and stop giving off odors before we let her use it. As you can see she already figured out it was for her. My wife refers to it as her “palace bed.” I originally intended to put a drawer in the top section but decided we did not really need a drawer and vents would be better. Welch Corgis are big dogs in a small package. She is our third. Her name is Hannah and she is actually from Montana.

Looks great! (The bed is great also).

We have two Corgis. Can’t let my wife see this.

very nice! I’ve always thought about doing something like this for my dog. Knowing my luck though, I’d probably spend all that time making it, and he wouldnt use it!

Thanks for sharing it with us! That is a great looking dog!

Great project. I’ve had something similar stuck in my head for over a year now. Please post plans if you have them.

Does anyone have any plans for the corner dog crate? My son wants to try this but he doesn’t have a lot of experience making items without plans.

I’m glad this came up again. I had not seen it. My corgi would love something like this.
