I knew what I did not want a kitchen to look like. After that it was simple to create. The idea was a Pine Plank look and is actually Pine veneered plywood with saw kerfs. The aluminum angle was used for contrast and edgebanding. All cabinetry is based on the 32mm system.
Several prototypes later the design finally started to come together. The drawers are Blum using Blumotion slides.
The drawer interiors are stainless steel laminate with garage flooring for the drawer bottoms. Since I wanted just a two drawer look I used the Blum hidden drawer system.

You used the same edging design in your earlier murphy bed post so that these two compliment one another. This is a beautiful kitchen. The only criticism I have of it is that there is room for another picture!!!!!
Thanks for the post. I am enjoying these.

Wow that is a fantastic looking kitchen. I’ve never seen design elements like yours – but I certainly do like them. Good work. Doesn’t sound like you spared any expense – it the finish product shows it.

Great kitchen. I love the corner drawers. Haven’t seen those before. Beautiful contrasts between the wood, stainless and stone.

That corner drawer/shelf is inspired. The whole kitchen has a unique look. Nice work.

That corner drawer is great!
I grew up just a stones throw away from Route 66.

My first thought was “I LIKE THAT IDEA!” in reference to your corner drawer. This is such an ingenious use of space.

Sarge shared the events of the weekend with me, sorry I didn’t get to meet you. Maybe another time. (Kevin is my mentor you know) what a great help he has been to me since I got interested, you did a good job with him.
