I’ve been making this toy fire truck for over 35 years. It is from an early addition of Hands On magazine put out by Shopsmith. It’s a fun toy because there are so many moving parts.

You should make a video to show us all the moving parts in action! :) Looks really cool!

Thanks for the nice comments. I believe plans for this fire truck are available. If you google “Shopsmith”, I think there might be a link to their Hands On Magazine and an archive of issues may lead to this particular toy and several others that are great for younger children.

I really like it. Many of the wooden trucks I see on here look like works of art. That looks like it could be played with.

I would play with it.

G’day Ron, What a great looking fire truck….
Do you please remember the Hands On magazine where you got the plans as it looks very much worthwhile tracking down, thank you.
Cheers, crowie

Hello again,

The Hands On magazine escapes me but I did find the plans by going to the Shopsmith website and linking to their Hands On site. I was able to find the plans for 5 great toys in the same issue by just scrolling thru the on line issues.

Good Luck
