Made this for my wife for Valentines day. This is the first time I’m made an octagonal anything. Maple box and lid. Panel in the lid is purpleheart, maple, and walnut. Thanks for looking.

i did a really simple blog post about it.

mostly trying to convince more of my friends to get into woodworking. =)

Great job on this. The blog is easy to follow. I like the idea of gluing 4 separate sections, then the whole thing. I did one where I did the inner star, let it dry and then did the next layer. I bet your wife loves it.

Just looked at your blog. I like the pattern you used on your box cover. I’m going use your pattern on a Lazy Susan I’m about to make soon for my daughter.
