Gourd AND WOOD! No picture No picture No picture No picture No picture
Zoom Pictures

Okay so I don’t feel so bad posting this – the moccasins are wood. LOL.

I have to get at least 6 wood carvings and 6 gourd carvings finished prior to the Stampede and I’ve had a heck of a time getting the wide basswood boards I’m accustomed to so I’m happy to have the gourds to keep me busy while I wait.

BTW, this was the end result of the gourd that I had taken a mold from. The wax-ups are currently at the foundry.

Great work Jordan. The more I look at it the more amazing the leather and suede look is.

And I have discovered that it is white version that takes me to tears.

I thought that Debbie but there were just too many discolorations in the white version to leave it like that. That’s always been my problem with even the wood.

What a transformation on the gourd. The original was already great but the added colors enhanced it even more.

Stunning! Again! How big is the top one? I was really surprised when I found out how big the one used for casting was.

Amazing work Jordan. Gourds are kind of woody, so I hope you won’t stop posting them just because they didn’t come from trees. The moccasins are definitely not wood. Anyone can see that they are leather. You can’t fool us old smart guys that easy!
