I split an old log this weekend for the fireplace and behold the wood had some nice spalting going on, I believe it is maple. I decided to play with my new Hollowmaster and try my hand a a hollow form. The finial was turned from a little scrap of cherry. No finish has been applied yet as I’m not sure what I want to use. Thanks for looking!

Nice turning. I especially like the fact that a beautiful piece can come from a firewood pile.

That is GREAT for a first one! I suspect it may not be your first turning, even if it is your first hollow form! Thanks for posting!
