I needed a project to build for my new Grandaughter who is due to be born in another week. Thats when I thought of a rocking horse. My son and his wife had spotted this pattern at woodcraft so i thought it would be great for a little girl. I went to my local mill and he had some curly maple that I thought would look great for the horses body. I had some cherry that had some fine lines running through it that look great for the mane and tail. I also had some left over walnut from my last project that really stands out for the saddle and stirrups. My wife is going to sew up a bridle and put a pink bow on the tail. Now all I need is for my grandaughter to be born.

That’s really, really nice, and you are an awesome Grandpa.

What a great looking horse…. Some nice colors in the wood you used.
