This is the first time I have worked with Box Elder wood. It is very easy to cut, almost too easy, it is very light and I just love the color variations.

The cross measures 6 3/8” x 4 1/2” x 3/8” . The finish is a light coat of gloss poly.

I like this cross, I have made a few of this pattern, everyone seems to like it. Nice clean lines. This pattern is made by Vernon Brown.

The last picture is the scrap pieces left over from the heart. So… I thought I would make some hearts. I thought they turned out pretty cool and I also got to use my new oscillating spindle sander I got for Christmas to shape them. Thats a funny story I’ll have to tell you about that.

A design I haven’t seen, very nice. I also have a little box elder and it seems to have a wide spectrum of color.
