The idea for this began as a humble serving tray. But what fun is that? I decided to totally pimp it out!
It has:
- Storage for BBQ untensils.
- A compartment for condiments.
- A compartment for lighter fluid.
- A compartment for a fly swatter.
- A sliding lid compartment stores matches.
- A compartment for an iPod.
- A lid that opens in the lid to store an iPod docking station.
- A compartment underneath that can store 4 beers. (No ice…what, you think I can’t drink 4 beers before they get warm?
Here’s a video.

You the man Steve always thinking outside the box or is that inside the box
Tried to think of what you might be missing …..but in the world of grilling I think
you nailed it.

This looks sturdy enough to take with you on that long journey along the Great Wall of Australia!
Great job Steve, but I am still seeing four little Steve Irwin’s wherever I look! How long will that take to go away???

What a silly project. You must not have inlaws hounding you to make them whatever there their heart desires every minute you have free…..lucky.

Very nice, Steve! Having become a veggie two years ago this may not be my next project on the list. Still, the beer compartment is an idea that could be incorporated into many future projects. Imagine secret drawers and compartments with beer everywhere in the house ….. and the shop ….. the car …. your wife’s jewellery box …. your mailbox post ….
I love it.
