I made this box to keep our food sales funds safe from students. I had a piece of scrap plywood for the bottom of the box and that is how I came up with the box dimensions. It ended up being 9.5” x 13”. Lid was 1” high, bottom was 4” high. Material thickness 3/4”. After gluing up the miters I decided to give it a little extra strength with screws. Instead of using wood plugs for the holes I mixed some stain with spare wood filler I had to add some contrast. It actually came out pretty well! The hardware was purchased at Lowes…..front lock is a little crooked, but acceptable. I hate putting on hinges or locks!!! Enjoy!

Yeah…..that front lock looks like its about .00001 off square! Man this is a fine looking box.

But…...I know from my own feeble attempts so far that everything MUST be perfect. LOL

This is a very good design and I like what you did with the wood filler and stain. Really jazzes it up.
