After seeing someone glue a box together with tape, I had to try. Then I saw a jig for making splines and had to try that as well. The splines didn’t work so well and I ended up with larger than I wanted. I’ll do better next time. I put together a couple other pieces to make the top and bottom (all from a pile of pallets) and then practiced my sanding and finishing. This one was done with Shelac. What to try next?

Hey Sanman! Looks like you are progressing with the box building. Kudos to you for the pallet recycling. I have been able to find some pretty decent stuff from pallets. My next pallet will be cannibalized on my dovetail jig. Gotta learn on something!

You have been busy this week. And your skills are improving with every project. Those boughten hinges have got to go! You’re about ready to try some wooden hinges. But I warn you, they are habit forming.

Congratulations! Turned out nice looking box. I too had some disasters during box building.
