A Raised Panel Hickory Chest I built using Hickory from a tree that fell on my grand fathers house. You can watch the “How to build a Hickory Chest” video series on this by visiting http://www.youtube.com/user/flatiger4u it was lined with cedar and finished with 7 coats of CAB Acrylic Lacquer and rubbed out to a medium sheen with two coats of paste wax to follow.

Hickory….. I am trying to build a pool cue rack out of hickory. It seemed very simple. I am having issue snapping the screws in the hickory. Didn’t have this problem with maple. Didn’t realize how hard hickory is. Beautiful wood though. I just hope ai keep my sanity.
